Arien Aguilar was born in Lodi, California, in 1994. Since he was a child he has shown a passion for animals and he has had the opportunity to interact with reptiles, dogs, sheep and horses. On their farm in Mexico, his father showed him how to handle animals with respect and read their body language in order to interact with them.

In 2007 Arien participated in the first stock dog competition in Mexico. There he was graded in the complexity and good use of the commands that the dog knew, to accomplish the task of driving the sheep, where the dog was commanded to. In this national competition he accomplished the second place. He also participated in equine competitions in Europe, like the „Freibergertag-Agasul“ in Switzerland.

He also attended at the zoo in Leon, Mexico, where he learned from D.M.V Jose de Jesus and helped as an assistant in taking care of animals like birds, monkeys, big cats, elephants and rhinos. He took care of health issues by helping as an assistant in various operations and procedures as well as participating in training sessions with the elephants.

After that Arien visited the zoo of Zürich, Switzerland in 2008. There he helped veterinarians to take care of different species mainly assisting in evaluating abnormal behavior of monkeys.

Arien had the great opportunity to impart talks in the University of La Salle (Mexico) and to the teachers of the UNAM (University of Mexico). The center of discussion was housing, environmental enrichment of equines and how to improve health issues in horses being kept in stalls.

In November of 2009 Arien organized the Equus Horse Fair in Brenham, Texas, in which different clinicians covered subjects like: fitting bridles and bosals, understanding horses through character and temperament and nutrition in horses. They also presented demonstrations about what you can achieve through the right methods of training. The demonstrations were: keeping your horses supple through flexion and collection, liberty work and trailer loading.

Arien has been invited to attend the National Young Leaders Conference, in Washington, D.C. as well as the Boys State, in which the top 40 students of the Brenham high school were invited.

In 2010 he met Wolfgang Krischke from the baroque riding school in Bückeburg, Germany. There he spent long parts of his tours in Europe to polish his riding technique and learn more about the baroque riding art. In the winter of 2011 he participated in the X-mas special show of the „Fürstliche Hofreitschule“ in which he demonstrated Mexican heritage in trick roping and riding.

The following year he met Bent Branderup who opened his eyes to the academic art of riding at his place in Denmark.

In July of 2012 Arien participated as a „cavalier“ in the show "Le Carrousel de Sanssouci" in Potsdam, Germany. This show was the first ever reenactment of a 1750 carrousel, from Frederick the Great. For the execution of this event some of the best riders in the world participated demonstrating their skill in the art of baroque riding.

In Spain he learned the basics of the art of the cossaque voltige from Florin Cristel Harbor. At the same time he continued to develop skills in ground and liberty work with Miron Bococi.

In November of 2012 he participated in the „3DN“ Seminar in Mexico, together with his father Alfonso Aguilar, David Alonso and Álvaro Pedrero. There he gave demonstrations and talks about the art of baroque riding.

In December of the same year Arien participated in the „Madrid Horse Week“ where he demonstrated cossaque voltige and trick roping together with Miron Bococi and Florin Cristel Harbor.

Arien gave his first clinic at the age of 13. He is currently offering clinics and demonstrations in France, Germany, Mexico, the Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, Austria and the United States.

Recently he is focusing his attention to the behavior of animals, directing himself more towards training methods and the efficiency of each. He is also interested in the way animals learn, so that we can understand them better, and improve our techniques to meet the requirements of the species being treated. He is currently getting his degree in equine sciences and will go on to get an ethology major.

„I plan to improve my riding, trick riding, roping, trick roping, liberty and ground school working techniques by learning the best from all the horse masters that I meet through my life.“
